Sunday Helper: 4PawsForJude.com and Help a Boy with Cancer

Today’s first Sunday Helper is near and dear to my heart, as the mom of a girl with autism.  4PawsJude.com is an effort organized to help raise funds so that Jude, a young boy with autism, can have a service dog. Jude has been approved to receive a dog from 4 Paws for Ability.  Why is a service dog so crucial to a child or person with autism? A specially-trained service dog will assist Jude with therapy, provide sensory input, interrupt undesired behaviors, and be a comforting and calming companion.  It would also act as a “social magnet,” making it easier for other children to approach Jude.  The dog will also be trained as in search and rescue, to track and find him if and when he would run away.  It would also be a huge source of relief for Jude’s family, empowering them to lead a fuller, happier life.  He can even help protect him in dangerous situations.

Please help Jude’s family by: donating, joining their Facebook organization, referring a friend or helping to spread the word.

Manic Mother

The second family that needs help is a heart-wrenching situation.  Manic Mother just discovered that her little boy, Ezra, has lymphoblastic leukemi. It was discovered early and is treatable – a cancer with a high rate of remission.  However, young Ezra will need to go through 3 years of chemotherapy.  That means 2-3 doctor visits a week, and they only have one car, which is needed for her husband’s commute.  Their home also needs some improvements, because bacteria can literally kill this child.

Please help Ezra’s family by: donating, blogging about the it, putting a button on your site, tweeting and stumbling her post, and anything else you can do.

Don’t forget to keep these families in your prayers and thoughts!

If you have a situation you need help with, please contact Mom Blog and I will post your needs on my next edition of Sunday Helper.
