A Long Walk Home
Friday was a balmy 70 degrees, so we took the kids for a walk. Chris popped open a cold one and we started down the block. We turned the corner and I looked down at Amelia, who showed me something in her hands and said, “Looook.”
Yea, it was dog poop.
I screamed, “Chris, Amelia has dog sh** in her hands!” As if he would have a good solution.
Chris gave the order, “Drop that and wipe your hands!” She obediently dropped the poop and wiped her hands on her shirt. The poop was hard, so nothing clung to her but Amelia is VERY oral and we were a block and a half from home. No way to get back without a nail bite or thumb suck. My stomach turned…and then I was inspired.
“Chris your beer! It has alcohol!” Chris told her to hold out her hands and liberally doused my daughter with Sam Adams.
Not sure if this was a stellar moment in parenting…LOL! What do you think: dog poop vs. beer?
