New House

in being mommy
Well, I suppose you’re wondering why I haven’t used this space to discuss my new home. To be frank, it’s been a little disappointing, especially once we learned we could have gotten a larger model for what we paid here and were lied to about the ability to put that model on this property (we asked before they broke ground). The reason the prices would have been equal is because we spent an arm and a leg adding on a sunroom (through to basement), and I realized that we could have the next model but was flatly told NO it was too widefor our property – a large corner property we paid extra for. And I researched, turns out that model is actually a few inches less wide – just a heck of a lot longer.
I TRY to graceful and grateful that we have this home, but today I visited some of the new neighbors’ homes, and it made me disappointed. Didn’t WANT to visit their houses, just had to drag Amelia out because she kept running in.
That being said, you may have noticed that I enabled Flickr photos recently. You can see our new home. There ARE some things I love about it. For one, corner property and over-sized FLAT yard. Not everyone here has that.
For another, the sunroom IS awesome. The smallness of it is actually good just for now in running after the 2 kids and the bedroom proximities. And everyone around us has dull colors, the exterior is the prettiest (which I thought I photographed, but can’t find the photos).
But if we stay here for a long LONG time we are doing some extensive work at SOME point in time, I’m sure. We need to finish the basement too, because we’ll eventually use that as the entertainment room.
Anyway at this point in time, I do own the FILTHIEST house on the block. It’s awful and embarrassing. Just a wreck on the surface and the dirt beneath it too. It looks like we’ve lived here for years. And my vacuum cleaner broke.
Oh well. C’est la vie.

wow. Your house looks simply amazing to me!
Thank you Tammy! I have to learn to stop complaining, you’re the 2nd person who’s said this to me. There’s stuff I miss about my old house, but I absolutely love where I am and the people who are so far living on my block. And I LOVE the town, too.
