Giveaway: “Zebrafish” Visual Novel
What is “Zebrafish“? Zebrafish tells the story of friends who form a rock band. The tween garage band uses music to make a difference and encourages kids everywhere to change the world. Their first concert is a fundraiser for the hospital that treats their bandmate with leukemia.
This neat little book is Amelia’s first graphic novel! And that’s totally fine by me…I fell in love with author extraordinaire Neil Gaiman thanks to a graphic novel. And bah! on X-Men movies, Wolverine is far cooler in the comic.
So, for a first graphic novel, “Zebrafish” is cool, fun, and has a great message of hope for kids who need help – which, as you know, is something I’m all about! You can learn more and watch webisodes starring the book’s characters at Generation Cures and at Zebrafish.

Well, my family just moved to a new town so our daughter could go to 1st grade at a really amazing progressive school that focuses on social justice, peace, and kindness. Rather than celebrating Columbus Day they celebrate Ghandi day! I feel so lucky to have found this school and am very grateful that my daughter will be taught to value the virtue of love.

We homeschool our tween, she has a small job pet sitting for a few people in our neighbourhood so she is learning about responsibilities for animals as well as the people that belong to them. She is active in our Unitarian Church, where she is often found with our senior friends that have become adopted grandparents to her, she is very fond of them. She is active with many people in our neighbourhood at our dog park when we take our dog there daily. She is very compasionate and willing to learn with regards to her cousin who is profoundly disabled as well. Basically she is a pretty cool kid. We like her
She also is a huge reader, and loves all sorts of reading, as well as graphic novels.
Hi Sonia, that sounds great! I love it, I hope you’ll share more about your school here. I will definitely be blogging more about Amelia’s school, as they are making big changes. Thanks for entering the contest!
Hi Tracy, wow, it sounds like you’ve done a wonderful job raising your daughter! She sounds awesome. Any tips you’d like to share? I could use all the help I can get! Thanks for entering.
Hi, we give our daughter allowance which she has to split in 3: 1/3 is for spending, 1/3 is for investing, and 1/3 is for charities.
