Book Review: Slob Proof Real Life Design Solutions

In conjunction with my giveaway, I wanted to do a review of this book by interior designer Debbie Wiener. Let me just state at the get-go, I love this book!

In the opening, Debbie discusses where her passion for slob-proof design comes from.  Inspired by a coffee spill on her beige carpet, Debbie figured out that you can have nice things and kids, pets, and messy husbands all in the same house!  I wouldn’t have believed it to be true, but here it is on every page: tips on how to disguise dirt, live comfortably, and stay stylish.

The book is broken into sections (windows, floors, etc.) for easy reference and is loaded with glossy photos that demonstrate how to do it.  She recommends everything from fabrics to floor brands and uses a “$” rating system to show how costly the different types are.  Debbie recommends products that will last, regardless of price but I thought her pricing system covered most budgets.

In short, “Slob Proof!” is easy to use, clear, and a beautiful decorating book to help dirt-weary parents like us! Check out my giveaway if you’d like to win a copy, but hurry – contest ends Friday!
