This week we got a chance to try 2 new products, Eco Princess Citrus Shampoo and Detangling Conditioner. This product line was created by a mom worried about the toxicity of the makeup, nail polish, and bath products that her child wanted to play with. I completely agree with that – I’ve already tried to detox these products for myself and it’s quite difficult!
The Good
These products are free of sulfate, parabens, and toxins, are vegan, and are cruelty-free. Some of the ingredients are also certified organic.
Unbeknownst to me, Chris started using this product on the girls. I noticed because their hair seemed smoother and less tangly, especially Amelia, who has very fine hair.
The shampoo smelled so good that I had to try both, and I loved them. The citrus scent leans toward orange, a nice change from lemon more commonly used, although it smelled of both. They cleaned and sheened my hair, without residue. You can see by the texture of your hair that there is no “product” build up like you normally get.
The Bad
Unfortunately, I forgot to ask if this product is gluten-free. The conditioner contains wheat amino acids so clearly it’s not, and that was confirmed by the company.
Overall Opinion
I liked the product and wish they were gluten-free! I’m also thrilled that they were developed by a mom who cares, and I wish we could test and try some of their other bath time products, which include 3 different bubble bath scents, and the makeup collection (eye shadow, blush, lip balm, nail polish). Nice smelling and really do the job. I checked all the ingredients and didn’t see any red flags at EWG, almost all green and one yellow. I saw a lot of ingredients with “lact” so I’m presuming this is not dairy-free either. If your child is not gluten- or dairy-free, I’d highly recommend this product for your kids!
This review was made possible by Mom Spark Media. Thoughts are my own. I received items from Eco Princess for the purpose of this review.

These products look wonderful! Shampoos are on my long list of things that I would like to start researching all-natural alternatives for in our house. Thanks!

Happy to help! Yes, all natural is the way to go.
Glad to hear they have makeup and nail polish, too. They would make great stocking stuffers for my daughter!

Oh I know, right? My daughter got some for Christmas, but I’m hesitant, not sure if it’s toxic, but she was really interested in using it (to my surprise!)
My first thought when I looked at it was that it looks like it smells nice!
