We shop at Giant (love them!) and last week I noticed a sign that some of the characters from SuperWhy! would be visiting. SuperWhy! is one of my favorite kids’ shows because it not only advocates reading in a fun and engaging way, it also teaches kids to reach for a book for answers (rather than a computer).  And many episodes are based on classic fairy tales, so kids getting a beginning footing in literature.  (As a writer, you know that’s my dream come true!)

I was so psyched that the characters were there that we changed our regular grocery night to visit them instead on a Saturday morning.  Amelia had a blast, but Zoe was scared.  (Sometimes she loves characters, sometimes they terrify her.  I have no idea why the difference!)  Still, she was happy to see them from afar, and actually touched Princess Presto.  Enjoy:
